Following on from first Runnymede and Weybridge Flood Conference which I hosted at the Egham Literary Institute in November last year, I am having a follow up meeting with local community group leaders on supporting action to help clean up our rivers and ensure we all do our part to contribute to a healthy ecosystem around our waterways.
I’ve fixed a date with Surrey County Council, the Environment Agency and Surrey Prepared to take part in a Flood Action Group River Cleaning Volunteer Seminar to be held on Friday 15 July 2022 at 3-4.30pm in Egham Hythe.
I am keen to encourage all Runnymede and Weybridge residents who would like to get involved in community action to help clear our rivers to join me at this event which will include advice on setting up a volunteer scheme, continuing one you have already been doing, and help and advice on legal dos and don’ts.
If you would like to attend, please email [email protected] with the subject line “River Cleaning Volunteer Seminar” and your name and address within the constituency.
Please note due to security requirements, only constituents registered in advance can attend on the day. Places are strictly limited due to capacity restrictions and will be allocated to those in local flood groups and those who attended previous flood meetings, followed by order of application.
