While I am campaigning to support our local routine NHS dentistry services, I’ve had an update from Surrey Heartlands ICS that for people needing emergency NHS dentistry these are practices available:
• Sunbury Dental Practice, 145 Green Street, Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey, TW16 6QL, tel: 01932 783208
• Parkside Dental Surgery, Goldsworth Park Health Centre, Denton Way, Woking, Surrey, GU21 3LQ, tel: 01483 766355
• Together Dental, Hamsey Green, Limpsfield Road, Warlingham, Surrey, CR6 9RH, tel: 01883 627764
• Cromwell Dental Practice, 1 Cromwell Road, Walton on Thames, Surrey KT12 3NL, tel: 01932 269199
Dental surgeries offering NHS services are now required to deliver their full contract provision, following the pandemic and the specific health risks this presented when delivering dental care. In their letter Surrey Heartlands acknowledges that while this has improved access to urgent dental care and is starting to deliver routine care for some, it has not addressed the backlog of care from earlier in the pandemic that will take some considerable time to address.
To help understand the challenges faced across the constituency I have also written to all local dentistry practices who take on NHS patients to see what their individual situation is and any barriers to doing this so that I can take this forward and help to improve access to this important service.
