You may recall I had been raising issues regarding the Weybridge hospital site with the Department for Health, having to written to Ministers requesting support for the necessary funding for the project to be released as soon as planning permission is obtained. I also met with the then Secretary of State, Sajid Javid, at the start of the month, who confirmed meetings were taking place to progress this.
While Sajid Javid is no longer Secretary of State, I have written to his replacement, Steve Barclay, requesting his support. A copy of my letter is available below. I have also requested to meet with him to discuss the project and developments within NHS property services to enable delivery of new healthcare facilities in Weybridge.
I will continue to press for Government support to agree the funding is available for this vital project as soon as local proposals have been finalised and approved.
