South Western Railways - SWR has announced more details about plans for services during the strikes happening on 21, 23, and 25 June. Disruption is expected from 21 to 26 June with train operators and Network Rail both striking.
On strike days, four trains per hour in both directions will operate on the Woking to London Waterloo line stopping at Weybridge. The first train from Woking will leave at 07:18 and the last will leave at 17:48. The first train from Waterloo will leave at 07:20 and the last train back towards Woking will leave at 17:48. No service will operate on the line through Runnymede calling at Addlestone, Chertsey, Virginia Water and Egham. The Waterloo to Windsor line will operate on a very reduced scale from Staines.
On non-strike days, Wednesday 22nd and Friday 24th, a reduced Sunday service will be in operation at all stations.
SWR have said the message to customers is to only travel by rail if absolutely necessary, to seek alternative arrangements if possible, and if they must travel to expect severe disruption. Customers are asked not to travel to stations outside of their local area and are advised that tickets will not be valid on alternative routes or buses due to the small number of services that are available.
Information and updates will be published by SWR at https://www.southwesternrailway.com/plan-my-journey/industrial-action
As I have already written, these strikes are incredibly disruptive and damaging to local residents and businesses. I am deeply disappointed with the hugely self-indulgent and out of touch actions of the RMT Union in calling strike action before negotiations have even begun.
