Many thanks to the many residents who have been on contact with me in recent weeks to discuss the plans Weybridge hospital site and broader Weybridge redevelopment. It remains clear that while this project has the potential to bring many benefits for Weybridge, the priority must be the rebuild and reintroduction of permanent health services, which can provide same day access to a broader range of services than can currently be delivered from the temporary cabins on site.
I have committed to supporting Surrey County Council and the NHS as they work to deliver this project. Following several meetings with Ministers, this week I have also written to the Health Secretary requesting his support in ensuring funds and resources are identified and released to the NHS so this project can proceed as soon as plans have been agreed and planning permission secured.
A copy of this letter can be viewed below. I will continue to work at all levels to support and help drive this project forward so residents in Weybridge and beyond can benefit from the new health services as soon as possible.
