Yesterday the Chancellor announced further support for businesses to help businesses prepare for the easing of national restrictions and a return to trading.
The Restart Grants, worth £5 billion in total, will ensure the hardest-hit businesses have the support they need through the next stage of recovery. This will see non-essential retail businesses receive up to £6,000 per premise to help them reopen and start trading safely, and hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym businesses in England – which will open later and may be more impacted by restrictions when they do open – receive up to £18,000 per premise.
Dr Ben Spencer MP said:
Throughout the pandemic businesses have consistently told me what they need more than anything else is certainty. Along with the Government’s roadmap which, sets out the path for the steady easing of covid restrictions, this support will mean that businesses can see a clear road to recovery, and will receive the support necessary to bounce back as quickly and safely as possible.
The Chancellor will set out more details relating to the Grant Scheme and other financial measures when he delivers the Budget this Wednesday, 3 March.
