The Grange Retirement Home in Chertsey has today launched a new campaign to support local vulnerable residents through providing free meals this winter.
“The Grange Cares” campaign hopes to support many local elderly residents who may not otherwise be able to access home cooked meals. The meals, prepared at the Retirement Home, will be offered from today throughout the Christmas period.
As part of the campaign the care home will also become the first teaching care home in Surrey, training young people and those who wish to start a career in Health and Social Care.
Donald Diamond, Home Manager at The Grange, said:
During this pandemic our care home has remained covid free and none of the residents in the home has tested positive since the pandemic started.
We, however, recognise many people in our community have been impacted by the pandemic. We have started programs to help rebuild and support the local community.
Launching the campaign, Dr Ben Spencer said:
It is a privilege to launch this fantastic community campaign to support vulnerable people, and see the enthusiasm and dedication of the staff who have worked so hard throughout his year yet still find time and energy to give to the community.
