The Foreign Office has announced a new Government partnership with airlines to fly back more UK nationals stranded abroad due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The new partnership will ensure chartered planes will be able to return thousands of UK nationals from priority countries where commercial flights have ceased to operate. The Government have pledged £75million to support the scheme and bring UK travellers back home.
For UK nationals in countries where commercial flights continue to operate, the advice is to book return flights immediate and not to wait. Any UK national abroad should continue to monitor Foreign Office travel advice and register with the local embassy for further information and advice.
Further details of the new partnership is available here.
