I am delighted that The Right Reverend Kenneth Nowakowski, the Eparchial Bishop of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of the Holy Family of London, has accepted my invitation to visit Runnymede and Weybridge to talk to constituents about the war in Ukraine, the relationship the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain have with the Government, local councils, private sector partners and NGOs, the next steps moving forward in the crisis, and the role of the Church in pastoral care of those suffering there and here in the UK who have fled harm’s way.
The level of support shown to Ukrainian refugees across Runnymede and Weybridge has been fantastic, and it is vital that they continue to receive our help as the conflict continues. I recently met with the Leader of Runnymede Borough Council and discussed the ongoing support available, and raised this with the Minister, which you can view here: https://youtu.be/fVIKBRqetJY
I hope the meeting with Bishop Kenneth will provide further support. The event will take place on Thursday 10 November 2022, from 5.30pm in Egham Hythe. Bishop Kenneth has agreed to speak, followed by a Q&A, and a chance for guests from across the constituency to meet and chat after.
The event is open to all within the Runnymede and Weybridge constituency but for security and venue capacity purposes, registration is necessary. Please confirm your interest in attending at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/bishop-kenneth-nowakowski-in-runnymede-and-weybridge-tickets-444637642157 with your name and address within the constituency. The venue location will be sent out in the week prior to all confirmed attendees. Registering for a ticket does not guarantee entry and all successful guests will be sent details prior to the event.
