Local health provision is very important to all of my constituents, but has been a particular concern for people living in Weybridge following the Hospital fire. I am pressing to get the Hospital site rebuilt as soon as possible, but in the meantime we need to support our GPs and the service they deliver out of the site. Following on from my campaign to get more space for them earlier this year (https://bit.ly/3saNx0s), I am absolutely delighted to have confirmation from Surrey Heartlands ICS that more portacabin space is to be provided for the Church Street and Rowan Tree Practices at Church Street in Weybridge!
An agreement has been found with NHS England to provide an extra modular unit which will result in the release of three additional rooms to the GP Practices, an extra 57 square metres for their use. Surrey Heartlands aim to have this extra facility operational from June. This will be a real boost for people living in Weybridge and working out of the site and I’d like to thank everyone involved in delivering this.
It remains absolutely imperative that local organisations make fast progress with the permanent replacement medical facility for Weybridge Hospital and in the last two weeks I have held meetings with Tim Oliver at Surrey and the Surrey Heartlands ICS to discuss progress ahead of a public meeting I will be holding on 20th May. I am looking forward to helping get an informative update on the plans to Weybridge residents at this meeting. Details of how to register will be provided on my website and social media shortly
