Earlier this year I met with Claire Mann MD of South Western Railway and team to discuss the interchange at Weybridge between the Chertsey/Addlestone Loop and the fast train from Weybridge to and from London. Many people, including me, have experienced missing the connection by a few seconds due to delays, and watching the train on the opposite platform close its doors as we are pulling into the station. It’s infuriating and happens too often.
I met with Claire and her team to discuss how this can get fixed. The loop only meets the 3 minute target 75% of the time and there was a recognition that this must improve. We discussed ways of adjusting the timetable so that the connections can be guaranteed. Critically, data is needed on this interchange and SWR are going to dig into this and how often the connection is missed.
I’ll keep campaigning for this to be fixed, but in the meantime I also need your help and feedback. Please could you complete the survey below regarding your experiences of local rail services and connectivity. I will use all information gathered to feed back to South Western Railway to improve our local service. Connectivity is our lifeblood in Runnymede and Weybridge, and I will continue to campaign to improve it!
