As part of my regular catch-ups with local police, I recently had meetings with both Runnymede Borough Commander James Wyatt and Elmbridge Borough Commander Bert Dean, who covers Weybridge, of Surrey Police.
We discussed many issues from violence and sexual harassment, to speeding and parking problems and catalytic converter theft. We also discussed at length the importance of cracking down on anti-social behaviour and the impact of anti-social behaviour on all communities and the specific issues which have been raised with me in Addlestone, Egham, and Englefield Green.
Following previous discussions regarding issues arising from unauthorised encampments in the constituency, we also discussed the new Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022 and the application of the new powers granted to the police through this law to tackle unauthorised encampments.
I am always happy to raise any constituent issues with our conscientious local Commanders and get answers for you. If you have something for me to raise, please do contact me at [email protected]. I look forward to meeting Commanders Wyatt and Dean again later this year.
