The community support effort in Runnymede and Weybridge in response to the pandemic has been fantastic. Volunteers across the constituency are working hard to support vulnerable residents through community support and registering as NHS volunteer responders.
Our local police force is also a front line service facing pressure on resources while working tirelessly to keep us safe. To ensure the police can continue to provide all the essential services, while supporting the NHS and other organisations, Surrey Police are appealing for additional volunteers to help during the present crisis.
The appeal would particularly like to hear from retired Police Officers, Specials and Police Staff, who may wish to return to policing for a temporary period, and members of the public who may have specific skills that would be of use. To joined the more than 580 people have already registered as a Police Emergency Volunteer, please visit: https://www.lumesse-engage.com/policejobssurreyandsussex/apply/?jobId=QYTFK026203F3VBQB8NV78MSO-89212&langCode=en_GB&step=DIRECT
