Residents are facing significant disruption on roads in and around Chertsey due to a burst water main. This is causing long delays and disruption to some local water supplies.
There are three road closures in place:
- St Peter's Way (A320) from and to Junction 11 of the M25 and Guildford Road Roundabout.
- Guildford Road from and to the St Peter's Way roundabout to the hospital roundabout.
- Guildford Road - from the St Peter's Way roundabout to the Murray Road (B3121) roundabout. This is likely to be closed for a few days while we work to fix the burst pipe today and reinstate the road.
Work is underway to begin repairs but may take a few days to fully repair the water main and roads affected. Affinity Water are providing updates on their website: https://affinitywater.co.uk/alerts?id=9680 Drivers are requested to avoid the area if possible.
Given the proximity to St Peter's Hospital I have also been in contact with the teams there. I am pleased that their water supply remains unaffected, however the traffic issues are causing significant delays for both staff and patients accessing the site.
If you have an appointment please leave extra time to account for delays, and if you are unable to attend please contact the hospital as soon as possible. Full information and advice is available on their website here: www.ashfordstpeters.nhs.uk/latest-news/2926-chertsey-burst-water-main&n…;
