Many constituents have contacted me about the impact of the pandemic on the aviation industry and what this means for local jobs and businesses.
With Heathrow on our doorstep, aviation is a significant part of our local economy. I understand the concerns of those working in the air passenger and freight sectors and I am working closely with Government and industry to address these. Today I have spoken to the Chief Executive of Heathrow Airport Ltd and Government colleagues. The House of Commons Transport Select Committee is also conducting an inquiry into aviation in response to the crisis.
