Today the Government announced a multi-million-pound investment in the future of UK science. This will help to secure our position as a global leader in science and support our next generation of world-leading scientists.
The £179 million funding announced today will support up to 11,000 students through 41 Doctoral Training Partnerships in physical sciences, maths and engineering, as well as £8.9 million more for young people to study STEM subjects at school.
Investing in science is essential to ensure the UK continues to develop the scientific skills to meet the world’s needs – from developing green technologies to curing illnesses. Today’s announcement is a great and positive step to ensuring our students and universities get the best opportunities to learn, develop, and lead the way in the field of science.
