I was contacted recently by a constituent raising concerns over dogs not being allowed on local buses. Following a letter to Surrey County Council on their behalf I was delighted to receive a response from their Passenger Transport Team saying they had reached an agreement with local operator Falcon buses, and from 17 January dogs are now allowed to travel on their buses.
This is brilliant news for residents who want to travel with their pets, and is another step to eliminating unnecessary car journeys from our roads. Falcon buses are currently amending the external and onboard signage about the carriage of dogs which will also be published on their website and onboard vehicles.
I would like to thank Surrey County Council and Falcon buses for their work to achieve this change.
