It was great to visit Gary and Midge from the Broadwater Conservation Society to talk about their amazing work restoring the historic lake to its former glory – the lake has a history dating back to Henry VIII’s Tudor palace in Oatlands!
We walked much of the path from the Cowey Sale end of the lake down past the Oatlands Village Hotel up towards Weybridge. The lake truly is a local gem and I am so impressed at the work the Conservation Society are doing. We discussed the further work they would like to do – including improving even more of the path, repairing banks and helping to unblock and restore the flow of parts of the lake.
The BCS is holding an information evening in Oatlands on 6th March and you can follow more on their tremendous work on their website: https://www.broadwaterconservationsociety.co.uk/
